REFUSE & RECYCLING ARRANGEMENTS
General household waste is collected from a black wheeled bin every other week, followed by recyclables from a black recycling box in the week between. Refuse and recycling collection days are the same, but on alternate weeks.
Every household in the village has been supplied with a wheeled bin for storage of their non-recyclable waste. Black bins must be placed out by 7am at the kerbside on collection day, with the lid firmly closed and no excess waste. Bins placed out incorrectly will not be collected.
Every household in the village is also serviced with a fortnightly kerbside recycling service from a black box. Paper cans, glass, textiles, aerosols and silver foil can all be recycled. Additional recyclables can also be placed out in plastic bags. Please try and sort recycling as much as possible as it makes the job of the crew much more efficient. Plastic bottles, cardboard and other items can be taken to the Household Recycling Centres at Hopton Industrial Estate, Devizes.
Bank Holiday Collections 2008
There will be NO disruption to refuse and recycling services on bank holidays. Refuse and recycling will be collected on your usual day. Please ensure that all waste is placed out by 7am on the day of collection.
Garden Waste
A garden waste collection and composting service is available for an annual charge of £28. For those that cannot manage a wheeled bin, there will be an option of hessian bags for an annual charge of £33.
Special Collections
Kennet District Council will collect bulky household items by arrangement for a small charge depending on the number of items. If you think an item can be reused, please contact Kennet Furniture Recycling on 01380 720722.
